"We try to expand access to library. One of the efforts is through mobile library," he said, Friday (8/8).
The agency also optimized library facilities in Child-Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA) by adding book collections and increasing reading spots.
Currently, the number of reading points in Jakarta is growing rapidly from 1,672 points in 2022–2024, to 2,403 points in 2025. The agency is targeting the number of reading points to reach 3,003 points by 2026.
The agency collaborates with various parties, including empowering Karang Taruna (Youth Organization) to increase reading interest. Several apartment buildings have also established libraries or reading corners to meet residents' literacy needs.
"We also carry out maintenance and management routinely and continuously, so that the library not only exists physically, but also truly functions," he admitted.
