Jakarta Transportation Agency's Parking Management Unit keeps improving the parking system including following up on the recommendations of the Special Committee (Pansus) of the Jakarta City Council regarding parking management.
Our main focus is improving the internal
Jakarta Transportation Agency's Parking Management Unit's Financial Division Head, Dhani Grahutama said the role of private operators in managing parking on the road that has an impact on parking tax revenue became one of the discussion focus. Parking tax is calculated based on income from locations managed by private operators.
"In order to ensure reporting accuracy and revenue transparency, data integration between private operators and Bapenda, including with us at UPP becomes important," Dhani said, Wednesday (7/2).
He added that several private operators are ready to support parking digitalization. It includes a real-time reporting system.
According to him, the study of parking adjustment had been conducted since 2019. But the implementation was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and economic recovery.
Dhani continued his rank has begun to develop a cashless parking system and real-time revenue monitoring. It starts from parking locations managed directly by the Parking Management Unit.
"Our main focus is improving the internal. It means we can monitor several locations such as Monas in a real time. Our first target is implementing cashless, then continued to data integration," he continued.
Transportation Agency has the JaParkir application for the on-street digital system. It is targeted to cover 25 roads. Then the new application
for off-street locations owned by Jakarta Provincial Government is being developed."Hopefully the off-street parking owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government can be connected next year," he stated.
