East Jakarta Water Resource (SDA) Sub-agency ensures the pump house and sluice gate in the area are in good condition and ready to operate.

Sub-agency's Head Section of Flood Control Facility, Clean Water and Waste Water, John Tarigan said totally there are 18 pump houses and five sluice gates spread in 10 sub-districts. All are in good condition.

"Generally the pump houses are in good condition. Thanks to the routine maintenance," he said, Tuesday (1/14).

He explained that those 18 pump houses have stationary pump with various capacity from 250 to 3,200 liter per second. Those are Pulomas 1, Pulomas 2 and Marunda pump houses.

The pump houses are also completed with generator to replace the electricity during the lights out. There is also rotary screen to transport waste and keep the stilling basin clean.

Some of the pump houses do not use stilling basin such as Krama Yudha Pump House, Rawa Terate, Cakung. It uses mobile pump.

"Each pump house is completed with CCTV to monitor 24 hours. Four personnel then guard the pump house for every shift," he added.

Tarigan appeals the residents not to throw waste carelessly to ensure the pump house operates normally.

"Waste is able to obstruct the pump house operation," he stated.
