South Jakarta Food Security, Marine and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency sterilized 96 male cats at Agro Edukasi Wisata Ragunan, Pasar Minggu District.

The Sub-agency's Section of Animal Health and Husbandry Head, Irawati Harry Artharini said the program involved veterinarians or medical teams from the Jakarta Animal Health and Livestock Service Center (Pusyankeswannak).

"The program is part of our effort in handling cat population," she said, Thursday (6/26).

According to her, the cat owners were enthusiast in supporting this program by handling cat population.

"Thank to all parties who have contributed, including animal owners, medical personnel, and volunteers," she added.

Meanwhile, one of the cat owners, Yulia Nanda said her cat was sterilized through the program without charge.

"Hopefully this program can be held routinely to cover many cats to be sterilized," she said.
