Entering D+2 of Idulfitri 1446 Hijri, Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal in Ciracas, East Jakarta is still bustling with passengers arriving and departing to their hometowns, Wednesday (4/2).
Many people are still traveling home after Eid
Kampung Rambutan Terminal Head, Mulyono said that since Monday (4/2) until Wednesday (4/1) morning, 2,550 passengers had been disparted using 406 buses.
This number is lower compared to the same period last year, which reached 3,862 passengers using 510 intercity interprovince buses.
"Despite the return flow has started since yesterday, many people are still traveling home after Eid. Maybe, they take their holiday after Eid to avoid traffic jams," he expressed.
As for those who arrived from yesterday until today, there were 2,703 passengers using 159 buses. This number is still low compared to the same period last year, which recorded 3,081 passengers using 168 buses.
Then others who arrived this morning came from several cities in West Java, Central Java, and the surrounding areas. Meanwhile, arrivals from the Sumatra region usually arrive at night.
A traveler from Purbalingga, Central Java, Sugiarti (41), admitted she and her family had just arrived from her hometown using the Sinar Jaya Bus.
She returned to Jakarta earlier to avoid traffic during the trip. Moreover, she had also gone home a week before last Eid.
"My journey went fairly smoothly. We intentionally returned to Jakarta today to avoid traffic on the roads. We also wanted to visit neighbors and relatives who did not go back to their hometowns in Jakarta," she said.
