The Indonesian Government acted swiftly to provide humanitarian assistance following the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Laos, and China.

Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) deployed Disaster Control Officers (P2B) under East Jakarta Coordination to join the team. They are Acep Sumantri (at the request of the Sabhawana Alumni Association) and Marwan (at the request of Baznas).

Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta, Isnawa Adji, gave permission and blessings for the joint team to depart for Myanmar.

"I allow them to depart to help the earthquake victims there. Join the Indonesian rescue team and give your best to help our brothers and sisters," said Isnawa on Tuesday (4/1).

He stated that the humanitarian assistance is given as a form of solidarity with those affected by sending a search and rescue (SAR) team to Myanmar.

Isnawa hopes that this humanitarian mission will have a positive impact on the affected residents.

"With the spirit of solidarity and cross-agency cooperation, it is hoped that the aid can be optimally delivered to those in need," he expressed.

For your information, the team will be on duty from March 31 to April 15, 2025, focusing on rescue efforts and distribution of aid in the affected areas.

At the ceremony held today to send off the joint team, representatives from various parties involved in this humanitarian mission were present.
