Jakarta City Council's Commission E Legislator, Elva Farthi Qolbina invited residents to attend the free cancer screening held by Jakarta Health Agency.

Elva said the program aims to improve the residents' health through early detection of cancer.

"Hopefully many residents will attend the service," she said, Friday (2/7).

Elva added that Jakarta City Council commits to ensure the continuation of health program for women through support of City Budget. Based on Article 10 paragraph (4) in conjuntion with Article 17 of Jakarta Gubernatorial Regulation No. 25/2021, early detection of cancer is included in program that must be implemented and funded by City Budget.

"We will supervise the budget to ensure the program remain exist at health facility," she added.

Elva suggested Health Agency to increase the public campaign in order to gain more participants.

"We'll request Community Health Center, health cadre, and Posbindu PTM to do socialization directly to residents, as well as through PKK program and other community activities," she continued.

Elva also emphasized the importance of follow-up for those who are diagnosed positive and require further examination.

Her side will encourage tighter cooperation between Community Health Center, hospital, and BPJS Kesehatan for patients getting maximum service without being obstructed by cost.

"The success of the program also relies on community organization and religion figure participation. It aims to decrease the stigma," she stated.

As for information, Jakarta Health Agency invites all married women to do cancer screening with DNA HPV and co-testing IV A methods during February.

The program is run in all health centers and other health facilities that have collaborated.
