Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Agency (BPBD) noted that tidal flood in Marunda and Pluit, North Jakarta started to recede, Monday (12/2).
Jakarta BPBD Agency Implementer Head, Isnawa Adji said based on information from the BMKG Class I Maritime Meteorology Station Tanjung Priok regarding the Early Warning of Coastal Floods, the phenomenon of maximum sea water tides coinciding with the new moon has the potential to increase the maximum sea water tide height in the form of tidal flooding in the northern coastal areas of Jakarta and high sea water causes the Pasar Ikan Water Gate to be on Alert Two on Sunday (1/12) at 5 AM.
"The flood in Marunda Urban Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta started to recede since 10 AM," he said, Monday (12/2).
His side also noted that tidal wave at one RT in Pluit Urban Village, Penjaringan, North Jakarta also receded at 5 PM.
"Thanks to collaboration from related regional working units such as BPBD, Water Resource Agency, Fire Handling and Rescue Agency, Bina Marga Agency, Environmental Agency, Satpol PP and Urban Village's PPSU for deploying their personnel and equipment. Community roles were also involved such as RT/RW, FKDM, and so on," he added.
Isnawa appeals the residents to remain alert related with tidal flood.
